Introduce a masterclass in Scandinavian design to your interior with this remarkable pair of Model PJ112 easy chairs, designed in 1951 by the celebrated Danish architect Ole Wanscher and crafted by master cabinetmakers Poul Jeppesen. Unlike the more commonly seen teak examples, this particular pair is crafted from solid mahogany, showcasing a deep-toned grain that adds warmth and richness to the overall form. The frames have been fully restored and newly upholstered in a luxurious moss green cotton velvet, creating a striking contrast between the dark timber and soft, tactile fabric.
Often referred to under the variant model number PJ122, this design represents the pinnacle of Danish mid-century elegance, defined by its refined proportions, sculptural form, and exceptional craftsmanship. Wanscher’s architectural background is evident throughout — from the beautifully shaped armrests that flow seamlessly into the front legs, to the subtly curved rear supports that rise gracefully to meet the angled backrest.
Elegant from every angle, these chairs perfectly embody Ole Wanscher’s philosophy of timeless furniture design — balancing comfort, restraint, and craftsmanship with effortless sophistication.
