A very nice 1970s burlwood and brass sideboard by JC Mahey (Jean Claude Mahey). Designed very much in the art deco style and taste but using more modern construction techniques this sideboard harks back to an earlier period yet has a more updated feel. The keys for this piece are not only wonderfully tactile and functional items but they really add to the overall design and feel of the piece. The sideboard has a few small scuffs in the clearcoat lacquer, they do not take away from the piece in any way. It is a 40 year old piece and like all of us we have a few signs of age around this point and this sideboard is no different. It is also a bit higher than your typical sideboard and so its size would be quite suited a generously proportioned and high ceilinged room.
