Added to our extensive collection of mid-century furniture is this set of eight ‘Model 78’ dining chairs designed by the renowned Danish designer Niels Otto Møller. Manufactured in 1962 by J.L Møller Mobelfabrik. These chairs are made out of solid rosewood with a stunning grain that is pronounced throughout. The design features a sculpted backrest and precise joinery, where every curve feels intentional and perfectly resolved. The transition from the back leg is seamless, showcasing Møller’s background as a train cabinetmaker and his insistence on absolute quality.
Despite their elegance, the chairs are exceptionally comfortable, with well-balanced proportions that suit long dining settings as much as formal interiors. Often referred to as the “Rolls Royce” of dining, which is a statement we stand by.

🧡 Why It Stands Out
The Model 78 is widely regarded as one of Niels Otto Møller’s most accomplished dining chair designs. Finding a full set in rosewood is increasingly rare, and even more so in such consistent condition. These chairs have a presence that is felt rather than announced — confident, elegant and unmistakably Danish.
